The benefits of filtering shower water

Water is essential for our daily lives and general well-being. We often worry about the quality of the water we drink, but we rarely consider the importance of filtering the water we use in the shower. Did you know that shower water can contain impurities and chemicals that can negatively affect our bodies? In this post, we will explore the benefits and importance of filtering shower water to ensure our well-being.

The importance of purifying water to eliminate chlorine and toxins

Many water treatment systems use chlorine to remove bacteria and other contaminants. While chlorine is effective for this purpose, it can also be harmful to our bodies. When we shower, the steam from the hot water allows chlorine and other chemicals to be absorbed through our pores, which can irritate the skin and scalp, causing dryness and worsening existing conditions such as dermatitis.

Filtering shower water can effectively remove these harmful chemicals and help maintain good care for our skin and hair.

Reduces exposure to heavy metals

In addition to chlorine, shower water can also contain heavy metals such as lead, mercury and arsenic. These metals are often found in the water supply due to environmental pollution and outdated plumbing systems. Prolonged exposure to these metals can have adverse effects on us, such as organ damage, developmental problems and neurological disorders. A shower water filtration system can eliminate or significantly reduce the presence of heavy metals, giving us peace of mind and protecting us in the long term.

Improves air quality

Water vapour from the shower can release chemical vapours that we inhale while bathing. These vapours can irritate the lungs and aggravate existing respiratory conditions such as asthma. By filtering the shower water, we are able to reduce the concentration of chemicals in the water vapour, thus improving the quality of the air we breathe in the bathroom and protecting our respiratory health.

A "must" for child care

Children, especially babies and young children, are more vulnerable to the negative effects of unfiltered water. Their skin is more delicate and absorbs chemicals more easily. In addition, their immune systems are still developing, making them more susceptible to contaminants in the water. By filtering the shower water, we are providing a safer environment for children and contributing to their overall well-being.

Alkanatur shower filters

Alkanatur shower filters remove chlorine, heavy metals, impurities, bad odours, organic matter and they disinfect. In addition to filtering out toxins and helping to improve ailments such as dermatitis, psoriasis, eczema, asthma, among others, they are environmentally friendly and certified.

100% free of calcium sulphite E226 and certified (CACTI, University of Vigo).

Most filters on the market use a chemical called calcium sulphite, or E226 additive. This product is a synthetic derivative created from the combustion of minerals containing sulphur. Although it is used in small quantities in foodstuffs, frequent contact with it is highly toxic.

This is a very cheap alternative to eliminate chlorine which is why major brands can afford to sell shower filters at very low prices, since they use very inexpensive materials of inferior quality. Their filtration is chemical, whereas Alkanatur's is physical. Our filter is based on a completely natural product such as coconut activated carbon and cotton fibre.
