What are the advantages of the Alkanatur Drops jug over other jugs on the market?

Alkalinisation systems and the ion exchange resin

Most conventional water purification jugs and water purification systems use filters that contain ion exchange resin.
The main function of these resins is to lower the hardness of water by exchanging magnesium and calcium ions for other ions such as sodium or potassium. The chemical composition of these resins is divinylbenzene (a mixture of benzene and styrene).
Scientific research has linked these chemicals to immune system damage, various types of cancer, arrhythmias, asthma, impaired vision, female infertility and so on.
The importance of pH and ORP
To help prevent imbalances such as acidosis and oxidation, alkalising and ionising water is a good way to help our body*.
The ideal pH value is between 6.5 and 7.25 for urine. And between 7 and 7.5 for saliva.
There are two ways to measure pH: through urine or saliva. This should always be done on an empty stomach, ideally two or three days in a row and then averaged.
For many integrative physicians and therapists, this value is of vital importance in helping us to improve and prevent many diseases.

Furthermore, our study carried out by the University of Vigo shows that in some diseases (type 1 diabetes) the antioxidant capacity of our water reduces oxidative stress (free radicals) in an astonishing way.

Conventional jugs
There are many long-established water purification brands on the market in our country. These jugs do have no certification regarding the endocrine disruptors emitted by plastics.
Endocrine disruptors are chemical substances outside the body that are capable of altering the body's hormonal balance.
Not only that, but the water that these jugs filter has very high acidic values.
In existing studies, the pH levels of several jugs were 5.77% and the European law states that the minimum must be 6.5%. In addition, they emit chlorides and have no antioxidant capacity. You can see it here.

Jug manufactured in China
The jug shown in the picture is the most widespread model on the market.
The Ceramics Institute of Galicia, which belongs to the University of Santiago de Compostela, analysed the filters of this specific jug. This analysis shows that the filter of this model emits very harmful substances into the water.
Fired clay ceramics, a material used to manufacture bricks, were also found.
Silicoaluminous ceramics with calcite and dolomite are part of this clay. These materials are very inexpensive. Although they alkalinise water economically, in the medium to long term they can have consequences.
Another analysis conducted with the Food Safety Service (CACTI) belonging to the University of Vigo, shows that this model emits 3 times more sodium than tap water.
Regarding the plastic of this jug, the manufacturer certifies that it is BPA-free. However, they do not certify that it does not contain other endocrine disruptors emitted by plastics that are as dangerous as or even more dangerous than Bisphenol A.

Study of the Jug with a filter made in China
Jug manufactured in Korea
This Korean jar was analyzed at the Food Safety and Sustainable Development Service of the University of Vigo. As you can see in the analysis shown below, the results are three times the values recommended (0.1 - 10) by the ISO 14911 standard.
The emission values for chloride (16 mg/l) and sodium (31 mg/l) are very high. To put this into context, tap water has a value before filtering of 8.3 mg/l for chlorides and 7 mg/l for sodium.
Therefore, this pitcher significantly increases the sodium values in the water. In other words, it adds salt to the water

As for the amount of magnesium, contrary to what is advertised, its contribution is poor: 4.6 mg/l, as demonstrated in our study. Tap water contains 2.6 mg/l.
Finally, regarding the plastic of this jug, the manufacturer certifies that it is free of BPA but, like the Chinese jug, does not certify that it does not contain other endocrine disruptors emitted by plastics that are as dangerous as or even more dangerous than Bisphenol A.
Study on sodium emission from a filter jug made in China
According to this analysis carried out at CACTI (Food Safety Service belonging to the University of Vigo) the Chinese jug triples the sodium emission with respect to the Alkanatur Drops jug.
Study on the Korean jug
According to this analysis carried out at the CACTI (Food Safety Service belonging to the University of Vigo) the Korean AceBio Water jug doubles the levels of chlorides compared to tap water and quadruples the values for sodium.
The magnesium content is very low compared to the Alkanatur jug. 4,6mg/l against 18 mg/l of our jug.
Conclusion about these jugs
The purpose of alkalinising jugs is not to add pollutants. It is preferable not to filter water than to do so with this type of jug.
Before buying, request a certificate issued by a renowned institution regarding the chlorides and sodium emitted by the jug.
In view of the results obtained from other jugs on the market, we recommend that anyone interested in purchasing a water filter jug should request the sellers and manufacturers to conduct studies on the elements used in their products.
